Submission and preliminary evaluation of manuscripts
Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's OJS platform, following the format established in the guidelines for authors. Failure to comply with these editorial standards will result in rejection during the editorial process or, if published, in the withdrawal of the article.
Submissions from authors whose works have been recently published in the Gregorian Journal of Health Sciences will not be accepted, considering the date of publication of their last article in the journal, both for authors and co-authors. Likewise, the inclusion of the same authors or co-authors in more than one article in the same issue will not be permitted. Members of the Editorial Board of the Gregorian Journal of Health Sciences may only publish one article per volume.
The process begins with plagiarism detection, where the editor verifies the originality of the manuscript through an Internet search by title and authors, along with a sample of the content. Subsequently, the contributions are evaluated by the Editorial Board to ensure that they comply with the editorial guidelines and standards, as well as the preliminary requirements for consideration as a scientific publication. Once accepted by the Editorial Committee, the manuscripts are sent for review, by the corresponding section editor and the executive editor, requesting external support if necessary.
Manuscripts that meet the established requirements continue with the editorial process and are reviewed anonymously by experts in the relevant topics. The reports issued by external evaluators are considered for the final decision. During the editing process, authors can be consulted if difficulties arise that require clarification.
Once the result of the review is known, the Editorial Committee will formally communicate the response to the authors. If necessary, authors may correct the text and submit it within a maximum period of 30 days from notification for additional review. Failure to respond within the indicated period will entitle the Editorial Committee to definitively reject the work.
If a manuscript is not accepted for evaluation, but the topic is relevant to the journal, authors are invited to make the necessary modifications and resubmit it. However, proposals rejected during their initial evaluation may not be submitted again for editorial consideration.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal will go through a preliminary evaluation carried out by the editorial team. During this stage, compliance with the presentation guidelines will be verified, as well as its thematic adequacy and originality.
